GAME: Crows and cranes TYPE:
pursuit and evade
CYCLE: I to III ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium
MATERIAL: lines on the floor
TACTICS: listen and identify asap the word from the teacher
React fast enough to avoid getting touched
React fast enough to touch the opposite player
DESCRIPTION:
Layer 1:
- Students are put in pair with equally speed
- They are facing each other at about one or two meter distance
- One student will be a crane and the other one a crow
- If the teacher yells “Cranes” cranes run back in their base
- If the teacher yells “Crows” crows run back in their base
Layer 2:
- When a crow or crane runs back to their base the other tries to catch him
Layer 3:
- If the pursuer runs into the opposite base he can get touched
MODIFICATIONS:
- Try 2 on 2
- Try with different ways to locomote
- Tournament
SAFETY
- Make sure that every kid understands what is their bird (crane or crow)
- Make sure that every kid can run safely to their base (no walls close to the their base)
