GAME: Vee-Ball TYPE:
Net and wall
CYCLE: II and III ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium
MATERIAL: badminton courts and nets, beach balls, mini-volley balls
TACTICS: send the ball so the opponent can or cannot catch it back
Use either forearm pass or volley
DESCRIPTION:
Layer 1:
- Each player will be paired up
- They will be in a designated area (badminton court)
- One player will start with the beach ball and will serve it to the other team
- The goal is to maintain the rally so it has to be an easy serve
- The other team will try to volley or to pass it
- Players have to make at least one pass before sending the ball over the net
- The ball has to pass a certain area close to the net
Layer 2:
- The goal is now to score a point
- In order to score a point players have to send the ball so the opponents cannot pass it
- If the ball is sent outside of the court it’s a point for the team in “defense”
- No smash allowed
Layer 3:
- Players have now to do 3 contacts minimum
- The second contact can now be catched (getting closer to real mini-volley)
MODIFICATIONS:
- Smash are allowed
- Blocks are allowed
- If it is too difficult, 1 bounce is allowed per team per possession
- Teams of 3 or 4
SAFETY
- Teach how to react when a ball goes on the other courts (ask for it!)
Put space between courts (don’t use the same line as limits)
