GAME: Nine-nis TYPE:
Net and wall
CYCLE: II and III ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low
MATERIAL: in a gym, tennis balls
TACTICS: send the ball so the opponent can or cannot catch it back
DESCRIPTION:
Layer 1:
- Each player will be paired up
- They will be in a designated area (half of badminton court)
- Each player has their own area
- One player will start with a tennis ball and will gently throw it inside of the opposite court
- The goal is to maintain the rally so it has to be an easy toss
- The other player will let the ball bounce once then catch it and throw it back
- Players are not allowed to move with the ball
Layer 2:
- The goal is now to score a point
- In order to score a point players have to throw the ball so the opponent cannot catch it
- If the ball is sent outside of the court it’s a point for the player in “defense”
- The ball has to be thrown at least at shoulders height (shoulders of the thrower)
Layer 3:
- Players will now slap the ball with their hand instead of catching it
- The ball still has to be at shoulders height
MODIFICATIONS:
- Teams could be made: 2 players per team with a fast switch
- The height of the ball could reach knees at minimum
SAFETY
- Teach how to react when a ball goes on other’s courts (ask for it!)
- Be aware of collusion between partners when the game goes faster
