GAME: Tchoukball TYPE: Territorial
CYCLE: III ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-High
MATERIAL: 6-8 tchoukballs per player, 2 or more trampolines
1 pinny per player (2 colors)
TACTICS: Protect the whole territory
Move into a good position to score
Be aware of the location of the balls
Make fast decisions on offense
DESCRIPTION:
Layer 1:
- The first layer will provide a better understanding of the game to kids
- They will have to shot at the trampoline each turn and get to understand how the trampoline reacts to their throw
- After throwing the player will try to catch the next throw
Layer 2:
- The class will be separated into 2 teams (6 v 6 or so)
- Both teams will share the same territory with each a ball
- Both teams will try to make passes among their own team and won’t be allowed to intercept any opposite balls
- Players are not allowed to locomote with the ball
Layer 3:
- They are ready to the game! Only 1 ball in play
- Teams make passes to shot at any trampoline
- The ball must land outside of the semi-circle and stand in play
- In defense, players have to catch the ball before it lands
- If the ball lands in, it’s a point for the throwing otherwise play goes on
- If the ball lands out or the trampoline is missed it’s a point for the team in defense
MODIFICATIONS:
- If not enough space, could be played with a rebound on the wall
- If too many players, could be played with 3 on the same court (blue receives red, red receives yellow, yellow receives blue)
SAFETY
- Remember players that interceptions are not permitted
- Recommend knee pads and don’t play on an old wooden floor (splinters!!!)
