GAME: Step on my feet TYPE:
Foundational movements
CYCLE: II and III ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium
MATERIAL: in gym
TACTICS: Control the opponent’s movements
Keep control of own movements
DESCRIPTION:
Layer 1:
- This game is played in pairs
- To start the game, players will face each other and on “GO” will take a step back
- Kids will try to step on the other’s foot
- They are only allowed to move one foot at a time
- As soon as one player leave one foot from the floor he has to try to step on his opponent’s foot with this particular foot (pivot)
- When both feet are on the ground again it’s the opposite players’ turn
- They have to prevent the other player to touch their feet
- Switch partners every 2 minutes
Layer 2:
- They now have to hold hands palm to palm
- They still have to try to step on opponent’s feet but there is no rule like pivot (more demanding)
MODIFICATIONS:
- Play with 3 or more person at the same time (with pivot rule)
SAFETY
Remember players to play people of their strength
Remember players of sportsmanship (proper force in stepping on the other’s feet)
